It is hard to believe that in exactly 12 days, we will be ushering in the new year.

Looking back at my old posts, I have been on a blogging hiatus for the past three months. I blame it on my exams — which I swear was the most torturous thing I’ve done in my entire lifetime.

For the past 19 years I have been eager to grow up and be independent and self-reliant. I was always under the impression that attaining independence would be THE highlight of my life.

The thing is, after having worn 7 different types of school uniforms over the past 19 years of my life, I did not think leaving school would be this emotional. No more having nurturing teachers spoonfeed me and no more waking up at the crack of dawn to don horrible uniforms.

2012 was beyond memorable for me — with way more lows than I can count. But then again, I am convinced that good things come to those who wait.

2013 will definitely be a huge milestone. A turning point in my life, where I will be known as an undergraduate, due to complete my degree. I will be 20 years old, with only myself to rely on.

Thinking about it just makes me shiver with anticipation. Life has been so eventful for me, and as I grow older, time flies by me faster. All I can do right now is cherish the memories I hold near and dear to me.

To all those who have made my 2012 memorable, I thank you. Merry Christmas and have a great 2013.

I remember being enthralled with the written word ever since my parents started reading fairytales to me at a young age. Seeing the power it has to influence behaviours and mindsets, I have learned, over the years, to translate my thoughts onto paper, in an attempt to positively disrupt the lives of others. Having my written works published in various forms of media has empowered me to weave stories that people can resonate with. I look forward to the life-long process of perfecting this craft, and hope to see my work touch the hearts of many in the future. This blog attempts to do just that - and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy penning it down.
